Best Day Trips from Bacolod

The Ruins, Talisay (~20 min)

The most iconic day trip from Bacolod, and the easiest. The Ruins is the skeletal mansion of a sugar baron — an Italianate manor burned during World War II, now standing as an elegant, ivy-touched shell often called the 'Taj Mahal of Negros.' Go late in the afternoon: the golden-hour light on the concrete is what makes the photos, and the gardens and café make it an easy, romantic stop.

Silay Heritage District (~30 min)

Once known as the 'Paris of Negros,' Silay is a town of preserved ancestral houses from the sugar-boom era.
